SPC women's basketball player Jaylen Ponder was named a Region 8 Player of the Week by the Florida College System Athletics Association (FCSAA)!
Ponder, a sophomore forward from Pompano, Fla., averaged 15.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 block in two games this week. She shot 48.0 percent (12-of-25) from the field and 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from the free throw line.She also recorded consecutive double-doubles while leading St. Petersburg to wins over nationally-ranked Indian River State (15 points, 13 rebounds) and Central Conference foe Daytona State (16 Points, 10 rebounds).
