Baseball falls 3-1 to Florida Southwestern

After pushing the game back from its original start time of 1pm, the Titans of SPC baseball couldn't overcome the wet conditions to defeat their conference foe in Florida Southwestern. The Titans (14-21) fell to the Buccaneers 3-1 Friday night in Clearwater. With uncertain weather conditions both teams were able to play but early errors by the Titans caused them to be in a hole early. After tying the game at 1 a piece after cather Nicholas Yedman hit a spectacular home run in left field it was pretty much all defense in the next 3 innings. Then in 7th the Bucs seized momentum scoring a run in the inning followed by a 2nd in the 8th to capture the win. Pitcher Channing Young had statistical night throwing a game high 124 pitches through 8 innings with 7 strikeouts. The Titans travel today in hopes of upsetting the Buccaneers series sweep when they head to City of Palms Park. The Titans next home game is Monday night when they host conference for State College of Florida for a night cap. First pitch for Monday's game vs SCF is set for 6pm at Jack Russell Stadium. Admission is free.
