St. Petersburg College Wraps Up Its Beach Volleyball Efforts

As St. Petersburg College transitions its Women's Indoor Volleyball program from NJCAA D1 to D2, the Lady Titans will cease spring beach competition

SPC has been playing on the beach for 17 years. SPC is located next to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  SPC lead the NJCAA to the beach, scrimmaging with other NJCAA schools and NCAA schools since 2004.  SPC played in nearly all the Fiesta on Siesta tournaments from the early days of collegiate beach volleyball giving our students the opportunity to defeat teams from University of Florida, Florida State University, and other four year Universities.

While the NJCAA approved Beach Volleyball as a sport 3 years ago, the NJCAA only allowed schools to play last year.  In our Covid shortened season, SPC defeated NCAA D1 and D2 schoolslosing only to ranked NCAA D1 teams.

Ten Lady Titans played for SPC and have moved on to seven NCAA Beach Volleyball programs, more than any other NJCAA school. The Titan family was especially proud of Ana competing for Stetson in the 2019 NCAA National Championships, eventually ending 7th in the nation.

As St. Petersburg College responds to the budget challenges presented by the Covid pandemic, the student-athletes appreciate all the opportunities SPC has provided enabling each Student-Athletes to make their dream come true.
