Davie Gill was hired by St. Petersburg Junior College in July of 2000 as the Coordinator of the Brother to Brother Program.  In 2008, he became the Coordinator of the Office of Student Life and Leadership at the St. Petersburg College-St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus.  In May of 2015, he was named the Athletic Director at St. Petersburg College. 

Davie was raised in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was a three sport athlete at Jeffersonville High School.  He is a former Basketball player and a member of the Track team at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas.  After graduating from Garden City with an Associate’s Degree in Education, Davie transferred to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL where he was a 3 year starter for the Triton’s Men’s Basketball team.  While at Eckerd College, he was also a member of the Club Rugby team and a Mentor in Violence Prevention.  He graduated from Eckerd College with a Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies with a Concentration in Sports in American Culture.  He has a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Troy University. 

Davie has spent over 20 years working in higher education.  He has served in many different capacities including Retention Specialist, Academic Advisor in TRIO programs as well as the Coordinator of programs designed for at risk populations. In 2016-2017, Davie was elected as the State Advisor to the Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA).  He has also served two separate terms as a member of the Florida College Systems Activities Association Executive Board, once as an At-Large member and once as the State Advisor to the FCSSGA.  In addition to serving on the Executive Committee, he has also served at the District 3 Advisor to the Association.  In the spring of 2020, Davie was named to the Florida College Systems Hall of Fame. 

Davie has been married to Dr. Kim Pogonowski-Gill, owner of Banacki Chiropractic, since October of 2005.  In 2010, the couple was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Ella DeLayne Gill.  He enjoys fishing, hunting and playing slow pitch softball.  Above all else, he loves spending time with his wife Kim, his daughter Ella as well as family and friends.  He currently resides in Palm Harbor, Florida.
