Former Titans face each other at the D1 level

On April 1st 2025, USF Baseball faced Bethune-Cookman Baseball in a non-conference game at the University of South Florida. In this game, former SPC Titans had the opportunity to compete against each other at the Division I level.

For Bethune-Cookman, outfielder Andrey Martinez went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI. Aaron Schaefer pitched 1.2 innings, allowing one hit, no runs, and recording one strikeout.

For USF, Matt Brown pitched 0.2 innings, allowing one hit and an unearned run. Also on Bethune-Cookman’s roster is right-handed pitcher Tanner Boccabello, who serves as BCU’s No. 1 starting pitcher.

These young men are part of a growing list of players who have advanced to four-year institutions over the past three seasons under Head Coach Oscar Espada. Coach Espada has demonstrated his commitment to helping his players position themselves for continued success after SPC. He expects this list to continue growing, as his current roster includes 12 sophomores.  Here are the players and their respective schools:
