Lady Titans head down south to assist in hurrican Ian relief efforts

On Wednesday, October 13, SPC students, faculty and staff drove to downtown Fort Myers to help provide food and water distribution for our hard-hit neighbors to the south.  SPC partnered with Next Level Church in Fort Myers and served over 864 families, 3,456 people, and contributing to the over 40,000 meals served over the last nine days since the storm hit.

SPC’s women’s softball team, Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Theta Kappa as well as students from the Downtown Campus met at 6 a.m. at Gibbs to leave for Fort Myers. True servant leaders!

Dr. Tara Newsom, leader of SPC's Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement, led the charge with assistance from Student Life & Leadership Coordinators Barbara Weaver and Jason Nicholson. Thanks to all who helped organize this event in the effort to support FGCU and FSW and their communities.
