The Sharks came into the game having lost their season opener against Palm Beach State College. The Titans had a balanced scoring attack led by freshman point guard Jullie Ruiz-Paneto, who had 22 points while being 2-3 from the free-throw line. Returner Aaliyha Reid had 11 points, along with freshman Olivia Delancy. This combo was able to knock down some tough jumpers to keep the Titans on track for the win.
The Sharks were led by Lianyi Leblanch (21 pts) and Jaya Nelson (20 pts), but it was not enough to defeat the Lady Titans, who won 73-71.
SPC will hit the road this week, taking on #7 ranked Indian river State College on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. in Ft. Pierce, Fla. Then, they will play in a tournament at Daytona State College on Friday, Nov. 11, where they will go up against Palm Beach State College and Northwest Florida State College, who is currently ranked #1 in the state and #4 nationally.
