Rich History Predates Inaugural Beach Volleyball Season

2020 is the first year the NJCAA has allowed member schools to compete in Beach Volleyball and the Titans Beach program from St. Petersburg College starts its inaugural season with a rich history. "I started training on the beach in the spring over 10 years ago. As a 2-year school, it was just not very productive to play indoors in the spring, and our campus is a bike ride from some of the best beaches in Florida. So we started training and competing on the sand over 10 years ago" explained Head Coach Scott White. The result is a rich history of players that have moved on to NCAA schools including our first transfer in 2013 and the #1 tam for #7 ranked Stetson University.

"It was very gratifying to me, to watch Ana (SPC '2018) competing for Stetson at the NCAA National Championships last May. Then this year, playing Ana and Kyce (SPC'2019) at the 1's, and taking them to overtime in the third game, against #7 Ranked Stetson, this really showed the quality of the beach program here at SPC." While the Lady Titans did not win the duals against ranked NCAA D1 teams, they did manage to win at 1's against Georgia State and 3's against Stetson.

Despite the shortened inaugural season, The Titan's volleyball program has a fantastic opportunity to continue its legacy of moving student athletes on to top programs in Florida and across the country.
